On 27th September
2015, we were amongst the 3,000 or more participants
who walked a mile (1.5km) in support of the 2015 World Heart Day Walk-A-Mile
event at the Perdana Botanical Gardens in Kuala Lumpur. Held annually in
conjunction with World Heart Day, the Walk-A-Mile event is in its 14th
year, making it Malaysia’s longest-running walk for heart health advocacy.
The walk is open to participants
aged 12 and above and registration is RM15 per person. Each registered
participant received a T-shirt and a goodie bag which could be collected prior
to the event or on the event day itself. We had registered on-line to join
the walk and there were also walk-in slots available for those who had missed
the registration dateline.
The evening before the walk, we
were not sure if the event would still take place due to the worsening haze. We turned to Facebook for updates and found that a few people had also expressed their concern on whether
the walk should proceed as planned despite the haze situation.
After careful
consideration, the organizers felt they should go ahead with the event so as
not to disappoint those who were looking forward to take part, especially the
outstation participants. However, the organizers left it to those who had
registered to decide whether they wanted to take part in the walk or not and if
they chose to do so, masks were provided and medical teams were also on
standby.
On the morning of the walk, we
reached Perdana Botanical Gardens at slightly after 7.00 a.m. and several cars were
already queuing to get into the Botanical Gardens. There were good signage leading to the parking areas and after parking our car, we hopped onto the free shuttle service which was waiting to take us to the registration point.
The registration counters were organized according to the participants' age groups

It has been a while since I last blogged. Ever since I got back from my 4-month maternity leave, there has been some changes at work and I was busy adjusting to the new life as a working mom as well as the new challenges that come with the new portfolio at work. Finally I feel like things has slowly started to settle and I have adjusted to the "new norm" - work during the day and try to spend as much time as I could with my precious little one at night and during the weekends.
My little girl is now 7 months old. Can you believe it? Time has passed by so quickly! She is now one little eager explorer. She can now crawl all over the house and stand while holding on to something. She loves standing - she will try to stand at every chance she gets. It has also been over a month since we introduced her to solid food and I have to be grateful that so far she is not a picky eater.
We have been using the Mamas&Papas Baby Snug floor support seat (picture below) during feeding and now that we have established a 3 times daily feeding routine we thought it is time for us to invest in a high chair so that she could join us at the dining table.
So, I was in search of the perfect high chair for my baby. So what were the things I look for in finding the perfect highchair?
Safety - This is the most important criteria. It is very important that the high chair comes with a sturdy wide base and 5-point-harness to ensure my baby is safe and snug with no chance of slipping down or climbing out of the high chair.
Portable with Adjustable Height - I was looking for a chair with adjustable height as we have two dining tables in our house and we want our baby to be able to join us at both tables. We also need a chair that is not too heavy and portable so we could just move it around the house. Perhaps when she is older we can move the chair to the living area and she can enjoy some snacks while watching her favourite show on TV.
Easy to clean - Mealtimes can be very messy at times and we need the chair to be easy to clean with wipe-able seat and easy to clean trays.
Value for Money - We were also looking for a chair that can be used for longer time period and durable enough that we could re-use it for our future children.
Guess what, we finally found the perfect chair that fits with all the criteria we were looking for and more! I am excited to share with all of you the latest addition to my dining table...
The Cosatto Noodle Supa in Flamingo Fling
The Cosatto Noodle Supa features 6 adjustable heights with 3 reclining positions, Easy to clean with pop-off tray and wipe-able and fully removable seat cover, 5-point harness, comfortable padded seat with adjustable footrest, sturdy and folds up easily and can be used from 6 months up to 3 years old. Not to mention that the design is also very quirky and it definitely makes my dining area livelier! It retails at RM755, we got ours from my place to shop for baby stuffs - Jumpingbabyjacks. (However I believe the price has increased slightly recently to RM835, but still I believe that is a worthy investment) I leave you guys with a short video of the Cossato Noodle Supa so you can see for yourselves what a brilliant piece of baby furniture the highchair is!
